You don't need any more power to drive the full range drivers in OB's but if you use woofers they would require their own amp.

No, you dont need more power, but as Poultry notes, you would probably need additional woofers. If you dont load the Fostex in a cabinet then you will need to enhance the bass somehow.
OB is pretty magic. But I have considered building a loaded cabinet for my fostexs, however seems like a lot of work just to get extra bass from one driver (but thats just me).

Madisound's BK-20 is also an option. I've read these flat packs also work with Lowthers and may give them a try if I don't build MJK's MLTL.

Any updates to this topic? I build a double bass reflex with fe206en and I'm considering to built the BLH version.
My guide is the fostex suggested plans.
I can not compare yet between enclosures. However, I put a pair of Audio Nirvana Super 8Alnico in the bass reflex and they sound better. Very much bass. Maybe I loss some "natural" precision on tone.

The Fostex BLH for the FE208eSigma would be a better choice than the one they list for the FE206en. But you could do even better. Have a look at:

I built these http://frugal-horn.com/downloads/Dallas2-plans-redraw-120618.pdf for my my son to go with the E-linear 6V6 amp I built earlier and they sound wonderful. I used a pair of Fostex 206e the earlier version of the 206en. The build I would say was difficult but well worth the effort.

At last, I built a BLH for my fe206en. It's sound wonderful, better than in a doubleBR enclosure. However, I set the preamp with more bass. I have to build a baffle step compensation circuit to this boxes.

I've always read that one advantage of back loaded horns is they don't need baffle step compensation???

This is usually the situation, but not true in all cases. Driver selection, cabinet design, room placement, and room treatments all have a role to play.

New here and in the planning stage of a speaker build. Using the fostex fe206En.
Speakers are brand new(does not matter)
My plan is to cut a wine barrel in half and use it as the enclosure. After review of available and recommended plans, the db seems my only option.
How ever your thoughts and expertise would be and is always greatly welcomed and appreciated.

Welcome to AK. That sounds like an open baffle design and if so the FE206En with it's low Qts won't make appreciable bass.

One of my projects during the pandemic were these Mass Loaded Transmission Lines based on Martin King's online plans. From what I've read the FE206E seems to be an excellent candidate for this design. These are indeed fine sounding speakers in every way. I had planned to use a sub which is usually the case with FRSD but found that it was absolutely not needed. I'm still in awe of the bass that this design produces from a single 8" full range driver. I recall during the build blowing off the dust with a leaf blower and when passing over the port the sound was like a foghorn. Maybe that was a preview of the low bass that was to come with this design.
