Found big pipes running through the woods. What are they??

A lot of aluminum was used pre-plastic post war. Looks like aluminum to me. Not really able to tell from the pics. Resembles galvanized too somewhat.
Wow! Aluminum water pipes. Well, I guess if you are going to replace them in 5 years...

Maybe a mix of different metal types?
 
galvanized steel would be more likely I think. Cheaper by a fair bit, and it will eventually rust, especially if scratched through the plating. A magnet will tell you.

The other thought I had was maybe a still. If the pipes tap into a spring or a stream at higher elevation it may be used to run cold water down to a condenser. Seems a bit extensive for that though.
