Frank and I will celebrate in our own special way later tonite. :music:

Wish my Mom was still around, but she didn't appreciate Zappa. So tomorrow I'll dedicate some Frank Sinatra tunes to her. :yes:

I call my Mom at the nursing home (she's 85) every year and say "Happy day you mother!". Cracks her up every time!

Back in the day, I had an 8-Track of Frank & The Mothers: The Grand Wazoo. I need to find an LP or tape of it.

I have a Zappa tune on a cassette, but don't know the title. It starts off pretty funky.

Yea, I wish my mother was still with me. I owe her so much...

Grand Wazoo was a fantastic album! But you definitely need a better source nowdays.

What's your favorite Zappa Tapehead? I always wanted to know that.

I've got a maybe a dozen Zappa albums. My favorites are the jazzy Hot Rats, Waka Jawaka and The Grand Wazoo. Least favorite is Jazz From Hell.

You're a man after my own heart. Jazz from Hell is not my favorite, but the other three are in my top ten.

I'm mixed between his live vs. studio recordings. And he's not my favorite guitarist, believe it or not.

Can't really say which are my favorite recordings, either. His older stuff, on LP, I love Uncle Meat, Weasel's Ripped My Flesh, Live at the Fillmore. And Roxy and Elsewhere/One Size Fits All should have been a double LP.

Then in the CD era, Apostrophe/Overnite Sensation where great and a good way to introduce friends to Zappa.

But I still bought vinyl: Sheik Yer Bouti, Joe's Garage, etc.

You Are What You Is, Man From Utopia, Them Or Us, Broadway the Hard Way.

Enjoy all the Can't do that on Stage Anymore CDs.

Tried Yellow Shark and although it may be musically superior I just can't get into it.

To simplify, I like too many to choose a favorite. It's like food. Depends on the situation.

I do much of my listening between 5-6 AM, Michigan Time.

I had forgotten how much I like the version of Little House on Burnt Weenie, think it deserves another spin!
