Frazier Fun

Sorry it's been a while since I posted. I was hot and heavy for a bit, then the spring and end of school-year fired up with the wife and kids... anyhow...

I have had a pair of Dallas-made late-production Frazier F12H4's for about a year now, and they have been great fun. I purchased them from CL for $175, along with a Carvin bass bin with a JBL2220 driver. My son uses the Carvin/JBL in his bass rig.

Yesterday, I got another great deal from the Dallas Craig's List... A pair of Frazier F2410 Subwoofers for $20. These are Arkansas Fraziers, but they seem to be up to the quality of my older Dallas speakers. They were salvaged from an Arlington shopping mall. Since they have built-in low-pass filters, they paired up very nicely with my F12's. I have only listened to them for a couple of hours, but, so far, things are looking really impressive.

I have nick-named these the Frazier NeighborHaters...

I didn't know Frazier was still around. I worked at Frazier in Dallas in 1969, (actually in the city of Farmers Branch on Valley View Lane, building is still there, a printing company now.) I was in high school then, and did that 3 hrs every afternoon, doing some pretty unglamorous things! Would come out of there every evening covered with sawdust, and straight to the shower when I'd get home. Don't know what their history is after that. Looks like they moved to Arkansas for a while and came back to Dallas, and are professional-commercial only now.

For all intents and purposes they are a completely different company. They have no records or information on the old products. They seem disinterested in their heritage. This is information gleaned from the Frazier Users Group (FUG) on the Klipsch forum (at the official Klipsch website).
