Frazier Mk. IV

i just picked up a pair of these units from AK'er guscjr, from whom i also nabbed the AR 3a's a few weeks ago...and man! are these things amazing! i also have a pair of Fraziers at my office, and dearly love 'em, but i was unprepared for the dynamics and detail offered by these deceptively simple, two way boxes.

i'm gonna drop the backs and recap 'em soon, but wow!! right now driven by the Audiosource Tripath amp and Carver C-2 pre...gobs of tight, punchy bass, detailed and non-painful mids and highs, deep soundstage. sheesh! i never make posts like this but, golly!

any other Frazier Mk IV owners out there? and BTW, gus did a great job of bringing these cabs back into usefulness. will bust out the camera tomorrow for some 'this post is useless w/o pix' complaineres.

Mark V owner here, great speakers. I'm listening to them as I write this. Enjoy my friend.....

I saw those on th local CL too, he does nice rework and is a very nice person to get to know as well.
Early Fraziers are some real interesting speakers and sound quite good to boot. I have had several of them over the years, the most impressive I remember were a couple of dual 4" vented models- forget the number but they could really play well and take power.
Hope ya like them fine

Have had a pair for quite a while now that one of the horns had been replaced with a Radio Shack horn. They still sounded pretty good and I listened to them quite a bit. Back in February, I got two original horns off ebay and replaced the RS horn. I have been listening to them quite a bit over the last couple of months and I'm really impressed.

A couple of weeks ago, I finished construction of a 12-G tube amp from S-5 Electronics. The pairing of this little amp with the Mark IVs is quite good.

You'll enjoy those quite a bit.

shrinkboy,
Congrats on those. I have wanted to hear those for a bit now. I am glad that you got them and like them.

Congratulations, Jim!

I'm not sure what Jack Frazier was on to, but boy did he work some magic with simple components (but less simple boxes).

DC, are those the Super-Midgets? I foolishly passed on a pair of those at an estate sale a couple of years ago (they were "too small").

Paul Klipsch's last speaker (meant to replace the Klipschorn) never went into consumer production, but the bass bin ended up in the pro sound world. It's the Jubilee, and is a 2-way design that looks amazingly like the 2-way Manhattan from his old friend Jack Frazier.
