Free home COVID test kit program is ending

Just ordered from USPS. Also got some coming from Washington State. Soon as the Moderna booster is available , We will get that too.

Last time I was at Costco Pharmacy, they offered 5 test kits per person. Just had to fill out a form and they would run it through your insurance.

P.S. - Don't stock up on too many. They have a short shelf life. 3 - 5 month IIRC
My wife and I alternate ordering kits when using insurance.

Another suggestion, for those on Medicare, they will pay for up to eight test kits per month. Have to check with your pharmacy to see if they are in the program. I have gotten eight per month through the Hannaford Pharmacy, wife just got six through CVS.

The first two times I got them, some were expired, but pharmacy gave me a letter extending the expiration date. This time no issues, good until early next year. You are at the mercy of what the pharmacy has available, we have gotten different brands, and thus slightly different test precedures, each time.

@Bobcat , you have a good question, to which I personally do not have a good answer. I am just in the "use what you can gets" mode...

Wife and I are both vaxed and boosted, but figure it has been long enough that we'll have to get boosted again

Thanks for the link, Bill. I just placed my order and it went through just fine. The whole process took only a minute - I wish everything else regarding the USPS was that easy!

One other thing I should mention...we are all experiencing heat of one sort or other. The boxes have a storage temp range on them. My last "Medicare" batch I refridgerated to insure they didn't get over temp. If your whole house is not air conditioned, you may have to do the same.

I imagine after sitting in a USPS truck, then the local post office, then the mail delivery vehicle, and lastly your mail box, I don't think it will matter much.

We're in for two weeks of 100+ temperatures, our mail delivery is at the end of the route, and I KNOW the delivery vehicles don't have AC. Neither does our mail box.
