Frequent turn off of PA amplifier

Ampire

Active Member
I just bought a behringer ep1500 as my main amp (because it bridges down to 4 ohm at 1400 watts) and I am using my old realistic receiver as its preamp. I am using these as my computer speakers b/c I like to listen to music from my harddrive. Should I turn off the amplifier when I am not using it (like if I leave the room for a half hour) or should I leave it on most of the time? My main consideration is whether frequent booting is harmful to it.

If you're only leaving for 1/2 hour but plan to use it more I'd leave it on.

If you're going for more than a couple hours or so, then I'd shut it off.

Ok thanks.

I am pretty happy with the power this thing puts out though there are some issues with the Realistic (poor ground) as a preamp as well as the very synthetic tone that the Europower puts out, however I must admit that it sounds quite good.
