Fried A/5 opinions needed

I'm so glad that I found this thread. I've got a set of A/3 's with cheap replacement woofers. They still sound pretty good, but I always wanted proper woofers for these rare birds. Thanks for the link to the new replacements that Fried now sells.

Did you pick up these A/5 's, jimbo?
 
Not yet. I'm starting to think that fate is against me on this. Every time I make plans to go there, something comes up to cancel it.

As time goes on, I'm questioning whether I'm willing to pay the actual cost of these... $50 for the speakers, $90 for the new woofers, $30 to drive up to get them, plus finding (highly unlikely) or making grills. To me, that's a significant difference from the initial deal. Since I already have more good speakers than I have use for, it's hard to justify the outlay for another pair, especially since we're going to be paying $3/gal for propane this winter!:eek:
