These speakers are about 20 years old but they still sound good. They were about $600 new back then.
I replaced the midrange driver about 5 years ago with an upgrade kit from Fried.
The subwoofer is not powered. It has a crossover so you run the amp to the sub, and the sub to the bookshelf speakers. It is not a boomy woofer but provides a balanced sound like you would get from a floor standing speaker.
