Well with the purchase of my newest console came some cool Ampex Documentation, I figured I would scan it all and make it available to anyone here. There also a few photos of my Ampex Custom below.

What turntable is mounted in there? It doesn't appear to be the standard Garrard changer. Thanks for scanning and uploading the documentation.

It looks like a Garrard, I remember my father insisting on us getting a console with a Garrard changer as they were "touted" to be the best of the best in those days.

If we only knew......

Great, just began messing around with my Ampex rig which is the same tuner and pre that you have there, although mine were purchased separately with no console attached.

I can't get to the links from here, but what's under the hood for amps? 6V6 or the 6973s?

Looks to me like a Garrard AT-60:yes:;

Nice console, and old adverts are always cool. Now I just wish I had room for a console:D.

That's what I was thinking too. I guess someone upgraded the turntable at some point.

Yep, I think it died so they installed a new one its a model AT-60 as mentioned. I have a pile of garrard tt's in the closet so I am sure I have an original one. As was said garrard was the top of the line and every body had one..short of like the iphone :D

Thanks, missed that. Those are my monos, although a bit cleaner looking. They look painted a light blue, correct? Mine seem to have no paint, just the labels stenciled right on the metal.

Yep light blue/gray color. Yours must not have been in a console, I seen an pre amp on the bay that was the same way, no paint but all the lettering.
