My wife bought some new furniture and it was delivered last week. After 4 gruelling hours we finally got everything into a position she liked. To my surprise it also improved the sound of our tv sound system. JBL-L100's, AR 7 and some other JBL for center channel, Onkyo recvr for power, dish sat. recvr, Sony BD390 for dvd & wi-fi(netflix). Always seemed very light on the bass. Really no low end. Now the bass is definitely there. I guess rearranging the furniture must have fixed something. Nothing was done to the sound system or connections. Just moved things into a more sound friendly setup.

Good deal!
We've got a new carpet order in for the TV room - replacing the pounded down old carpet and padding
with premium padding and a plusher rug, in prep for a new sofa.
I remain hopeful ...

Too late now, but if you have carpet, those teflon Moving Men disks are great to put under the legs of sofas so you can slide them around wherever you want. Then just take them out from under the feet when the boss is happy with the arrangement. They used to sell them on TV but I think you can get them at hardware and discount stores now.

I keep saying it. Moving stuff around can make astonishing changes in the sound of a particular system, in a particular room. Sometimes good, sometimes bad. What is really amazing is how sometimes a slight the change in listening position can have a huge impact. Best thing is, just moving what you already have is virtually free.
