G-6000 issues?

Hi all,
Bought the receiver yesterday. Auditioned it at the seller but should have been more thorough. When back home, turned on for a first time, a few potential issues were evident and I hope to get some help here.
After switching ON, I heard the relay click multiple times like a popcorn, then the green light went solid and it was working fine. After playing around with it, testing inputs, finding more issues, I turned it off, waited for a minute, then switched it back on. This time no relay click, straight to solid green light with boomy hiss through the speakers. Can't be normal, what do you reckon guys?
I wander as well, does the unit suppose to work with the build in antenna only or external must be connected to play any station at all? Because I don't have external and tried to listen to some radio but it doesn't pick up anything at all. Not sure if this is a fault or normal.

About the other issues, I believe cleaning with D5 will help. The Selector knob doesn't pick up signal from Phono 1 and 2 when turned, have to wiggle it then it's ok. Right channel at first was mostly off, then switching between sources, it started coming on off, then played fine.

Thank you everyone
Rad

There is no built in antenna. If it still has the one clipped on the back, I believe that is for am only.
For any fm reception you will need an external antenna unless you live right next to an fm radio station. Even if the station is close it still may not pull it in. G Series Sansui's need some form of antenna to get any fm reception. Speaker wire will work in a pinch.

Is the boomy hiss with the volume to min? Or is it only when you turn it up without a source connected? Or without a radio station tuned in?

DB7, I was confused the clipped antenna is for both fm/am.
After the first listen, the amp was off for a day and when turned it back on it went through the same 5 or 6 clicks before solid light and working fine. I switched the speakers off beforehand, cause I didn't know what to expect. However, to your question - when it did the thumping before, I had it on CD source connected and volume at normal listening level 3/4. Not on radio.

Thank you
