G-6700 to G-7700 Transformation

I just read through the G-5700/6700/7700 service manual. The only differences between the G-6700 and G-7700 seem to be the ratings of certain parts, but they share the same circuit boards and chassis. Would it be possible to simply replace the 6700-specific parts with the 7700 listed parts to turn the unit from a G-6700 into a G-7700? :scratch2:

From a preliminary check it seems the hardest part to come across would be the different power transformer.

The biggest issue is the transformer. You will need to replace it with one from a G-7700. Possible, yes, worthwhile, probably not.
