G-7000 vs AU717

Hello everyone. I'm looking for some feedback. I currently have a G-7000 in excellent condition which I absolutely love. Unfortunately, it's too big for my audio rack so it has to sit on a temporary table. I was thinking of selling or trading for a Sansui integrated such as the AU717. Any thoghts on how they compare? I listen to alot of vinyl so the phono section would have to be as good or better than the G-7000.

The AU717 was the top of the line amp for Sansui at that time. It's a great amp with lots of power and a great phono section. The G-7000 is a good looking and great performing receiver but it was two steps down from the top of the line. If you can only have one, the 717 is the way to go.

AU 717 is a dual mono amp with two power supply. Sounds great, a precursor of the new "HiFi." The G7000 (I have had the G7500 since 1979) is a great receiver, but it is a different piece of equipment altogether, much prettier, and one of the best-sounding receivers, in my opinion, but closer to HiFi is indeed the Sansui 717.
