Hello all,
I am new to the forum. I know this has been discussed somewhat, but just seeing if I can find someone that has actually done a restore on a G5700. I have a chance to buy one for a reasonable price. It is currently in very good working order. I have it on loan now. I set bias and offsets. Offsets are stable and staying under 15mV even after some hard playing duty. The digital tuner display section is functioning perfectly, and the receiver sounds very good.
Given all that, due to it's age I am looking at a restoration project, which I can do myself. I have done some Marantz units, but never a Sansui. I've read the main board is finicky. This is what scares me, and where I am looking for advice. I have bought some parts and kits from East Point (goes by peace love and music on the big auction site). I trust his parts and kits, but I do not believe he has one for the G5700. Any other suggestions on a kit supplier, or should I just do all of the leg work myself?
Any help appreciated.
TIA
