G6000 + SE 7 + QS 800 question/ help

Dear all,
I am a little confused connecting these 3, I would like to be able to ear via the equalizer and into de rear channel amp so that the result is quad.
I connected the G6000 out for the rear amp to the equalizer in and the equalizer out to the rear amp in and the rear amp out to the G6000 in from the rear amp, and nothing!
If I connect rge G6000 to the rear amp and back to the G6000 and the equalizer is connected via the tape in and out it works but not through the QS 800!
The other connections I think are OK:
Cd player to the aux of the G- 6000 or?
TT to the phono f the G6000
Quad RR to the quad tape 4 channel of the QS 800
Cassette tape r. to the 1rst 2 channel tape of the QS 800
Help pse....

What are you using for the "out" and "in" for the G-6000? If you are using the "4 Channel Adapter" jacks, you have to have the "4 CH Adapter" button pushed in to hear the sound in the G-6000 used for front speakers. The 4 Channel Adapter jacks act just like a Tape set of jacks.

If you have this correct, then are you sure the out jacks on the equalizer work? Try using one of the tape in/out on the equalizer instead. The SE 7 has a set of main In and out jacks, but also has two tape in and out jacks.

If you are sure you are getting sound out of the equalizer, then make sure the QS-800 is putting out sound from it's out jacks. You'll have to try various configurations to try to isolate the issue. You might think you are getting sound out from your QS-800, but its possible you are not.

I used the "4 Channel Adapter" jacks and I pressed the G6000 "4 Channel Adapter" button, I tried other configurations but then I
started to get confused, too many jacks and buttons... I will retry again as you explained.
Anyway how can I check that I am getting sound out of both the Se7 and the Qs800 if
no other configuration works?
 
I started from zero again!
Connected the G 6000 4 channel out to the Se 7 in loop and the Se 7 out loop to the Qs 800 in and it' s out to the G6000 4 channel in and everything is working perfectly.
Tried the cassette deck Sc 5300 connected to the Qs 800 but have a better sound when connected to the G 6000, the same with the Cd player, the only Sansui missing part as the Tt is a Sr 838 also connected to the
G 6000.
In the end the only thing connected to the
Qs 800 is the R to R a Qd 5500 because of the 4 channel connection, I think I can only connect it to the G 6000 on a 2 channel mode, maybe be I can do it with a Din cable,
maintaining the channel to the Qs 800 as they won' t be done at the same time, what do you think?
 
Congrats on the success!

It doesn't much matter where you make 2 channel connections. As long as you have the 4 CH adapter button pushed in on the G-6000, all signals input to the G-6000 will go through the Adapter out, and the G will only play what comes in on the Adapter in. If you use the QS-800 for 2 channel input, just make sure you are connecting a 2 channel source to a 2 channel input on the QS-800. If you use a 4 channel input, you won't get any quad synthesis and thus no sound out the rear speakers. If it were me, I'd connect all 2 channel sources to the G and use the Adapter switch for when you want quad sound. That way if you just want stereo, you leave the Adapter switch out and can leave the QS-800 off.

I will leave the Qd 5500 connected in quad to the Qs 800 in order to be able to do quad recording and will connect it in 2 channel mode to the G 6000.
Everything should go smoothly from now on:):)

You're welcome. I really enjoy the quad synthesis of these early Sansui units. For me they have just the right amount of synthesis and add the right amount of reverb to the rear speakers. I feel they enhance any "rock" or "jazz" style music I throw at them. For classical, I stick with 2 channel.
 
I agree with you on the quad sound of those early Sansui' s.
I was trying quad before with the same items but with a Qs 500, the Qs 800 has rear treble and bass controls as well has more power, it may be my impression but the sound I have now is much better then the I had one before!
For me, 2 channel now is with my Technics rig!
 
Yes, good point. I had a QS-500 for a while. I felt it gave the same synthesized sound as my QR-6500, but you are right, there are no tone controls at all for the rear. If you like using the Loudness switch or tone controls, then the QS-500 won't sound as good as an amp with those. The QR-4500 simply has one Loudness switch that turns loudness on for both front and rear. With the QR-6500 you get individual Loudness switches for front and rear. I've tried it with just the front on, but like it much better with both on. The QR receivers have the same quad synthesis as the QS units, but are much easier to use, and have a bit more versatility. If one comes your way, I'd grab it. :)
