Game Of Thrones fans?

They called it a Scorpion in the show. Anyway I assume they have more than one. Remember in the second (I think) episode of the season where Randall Tarly asked about Cersie's answer to the dragons, and they demonstrated it? Maybe he insisted that they have one with them, just in case.
In that case why didn't the brilliant Jamie insist on having a trained crew on alert with the thing? How long does he think it takes a dragon to show up? And his only way to put it into use was to send his #2 running off to do it?

I'll go against the grain a bit. I'm still entertained by the show but I think it's really lowered in storytelling quality. Everything this season is so rushed and ridiculous, even given that it's a fantasy show.

We will see what happens Sunday. Hopefully it will prove me wrong.

Yes. The story still has tremendous fantasy production values, and tremendous spectacular battles, but the storycraft has suffered a lot. Boats and horses have gotten really zippy, and they should at least have taken time to put in some magic BS to explain Jon not dying of hypothermia.....

And where did the zombie guys get all that extra heavy chain? Somehow I can't see them running a big industrial infrastructure to make stuff like that. Lifting the dragon out by building a mountain of zombies under him would seem more their style.

It could come as a unpleasant surprise to the Greyjoys that while the wights can't swim, they can walk under water.

True, it's always been there, but in the background. Just sayin' the political intrigue on its own was/is good enough for me. When the story goes to the zombie side, just seems to me like they're riding the wave of the zombie craze that's been going on as of late. Doesn't keep me from watching and enjoying it.

Yes but as you said they have always been there. And the first book came out in 1996 when zombies weren't exactly as fashionable as they are today. Actually I think at the time it was something pretty new.

I wonder if Ayra will put Little Fingers face in her bag. I bet that may come in handy soon. She is such a bad ass, even Brianna who I think harbors a crush for the King Slayer or the Hound will mess with her.

She didn't use a nice clean throat cut for nothin! Same technic as as ole man Frey.

I think it was rather selfish of Beric Dondarrion not to light up his bloody flaming sword and keep everyone warm all night. It's much nicer to share....

I think someone (and I'm not volunteering myself here) should go through all the seasons and pull out all of The Hounds lines. I think he has, hands down, the best lines in the whole show.

Sansa Stark: Does it give you joy to scare people?
Sandor Clegane: No, it gives me joy to kill people.
