Garage speaker placement

For about a year my room has been the garage. I've got it set up like it was when I had an actual room for now. I'm wanting to rearrange a bit. Maybe put the stereo in the middle of the garage facing the big door(hope that makes sense). Any suggestions are appreciated.


The pic is of the system as it is at the moment. The garage is single car. 13-15ft wide 35-40ft long(all measurements NOT accurate, no tape measure).

hey deeder. i have made atleast 4 threads asking about speaker placement. and in each one it just boiled down to what sounded best to me and time consuming experamenting.
unhappy to say.. you probably just need time to exparament and move things around. do you sit on a couch?
 
I have had a stereo in my garage in the past. Mine sounded pretty good for just using leftovers and home made sub.

One problem with this setup, any time I turned it up loud enough to hear decent while I worked on my stock car, I was serenading half the block with my taste in music, because I placed the speakers on the back wall and pointed them toward the main door. This was more than embarrassing on more than one occaision.

I have since moved the speakers to the garage door side and mounted them on the wall at the top of the door pointing toward the back of the garage, Voila! Now I can crank it up and not bother the neighbors, even with the garage door wide open.

It depends on many factors, such as room size, shape and the position you are listening from. All i could say is to try different positions as said before.

Isn't that just being neighborly? I'm sure my neighbors enjoy Steve Miller on Sunday mornings when I wash the cars :D

Garage with no tape measure?
 
I've got a 2 car garage and I have a Sansui 7070 and a couple of vintage 12" woofer 3-ways at the back of the garage facing out (towards the doors). That way I can hear music when I'm out working in the yard (or just sitting out there drinking beer). The yards in my subdivision are all about an acre each with some woods in between all of the houses and long driveways, so disturbing the neighbors isn't much of a concern. The 7070's 60 watts seem plenty adequate as thus far I don't think I've ever turned the volume knob past half.
 
I have Advent Legacy IIs high and 20' apart on the back wall of a 2 car garage. It's like an ampitheater with the doors open and sounds great at any volume level whether I'm inside or out. The neighbor on one side doesn't mind and the other one has dementia, hopefully not from my music which is mostly from the "chill" genre.

That seems to be the case in mine also. I'm guessing the natural reverb coming off a cement garage floor and comparatively empty walls and ceiling for the size of the space is going to enhancing the listening experience compared to say the same setup in a typical indoor space.

Although I don't really notice it (because I'm used to it I guess) my little guy sometimes plays with the echo out there which means he can discern it.
