Garrard 210

Hi all! Just pulled this Garrard 201 TT from an old Electrohome console. I'm thinking about making a nice wood base for it. Just thought I would show it to those who are TT fanatics like myself. Cheers.
Sorry folks, it is a model 210. Sorry for the typo.

Is that a 201? I'd expected a single play manual, on the assumption that it would be rather like a 301 or 401. I have a 4HF which I am told has the same bearing as the 201, and its bearing doesn't look like that one.
So I'm curious.

The 201 was a single play transcription motor (the 301's 78 RPM only father). Commonly used by the BBC who bought many of them.

If you build it, I'll sit and watch

Whatever order those numbers go in, you've got a nice-looking table there. I've been thinking along those lines myself here lately, but with a V-M 1200 series, so will be watching to see your progress.

Best of luck. :thmbsp:

Gotta love the style on those old Garrards. I believe I have a couple of Garrard 88/4 turntables sitting in a box. If I recall correctly, the person I got them from said that they were new, but one of them somehow was damaged in storage over the years. Someday I'll need to dig them out and get one of them going.

Would this turntable have a spring for adjusting the weight of the stylus bearing on the record? I don't see a counterweight. If so, I wonder if it can even accept modern low-mass cartridges?
