Garrard, famous for turntables and other components, also has a "Music Recovery Module" that suppresses clicks and pops. It identifies electronically those surface noises that it can suppress, including scratches, pops and clicks. These noises, called "impulse noise," are identified before they happen because of their unique waveform. It occurs in a short interval, 1/1,000th of a second. No musical sound has a similar waveform, so the clever module can surgically extract the noise and leave the music.
