75 years old!!?? I didn’t know that they had 33s and 45 in 1933. Must be an early prototype. That could make it worth it. Either that or she missed the decimal point by 2 places.

C'mon there are other Garrard tables that get bid up past that amount and they don't even have a tonearm sometimes!

I used to have that exact model Garrard. It is a stack changer. The doohickey on the left top side is a latch to drop the records onto the platter and uses a bent spindle so the load on the latch isn't too great. Hope springs eternal on pricing I guess. I believe I sold mine for $5 at the MIT flea years back.

Yeah... if the name Shindo happens to be attached to it, I'll pay that price for a Garrard, even sans tonearm... but for THAT one in the auction? The seller seems rather :screwy:

Of course, if (s)he finds a buyer who is willing to PAY that price, then maybe it's we who are the :screwy:

I watched a 301 for several days this week, because it was listed locally here in Hong Kong. If it had gone cheap, I would have grabbed it, but even without plinth or tonearm, it went for more than US$900. Not really ridiculous for THAT model, but this one? Sheer stupidity or insanity...
