Recently bought a Type A from the bay. I was surprised that it was better than described without any hang-ups on the auto cycle. Stacker works perfect with the feeler arm sensing it before every record drop. Heavy platter is cycling without the slightest hesitation. The brake action is excellent and stops the platter in a dime as soon as it turns off. So no problem with the automatic/ stacker features at all. :thmbsp:
The problem is the tonearm/ headshell wiring leading to the amp leads. Not sure if this is wired for stereo or mono. I could only hear the Left output and nothing on the right but a slight hum.
I see 4 wires from the cartridge to the headshell (Grey=L, Blue=LG, Brown=R, Black=RG) terminals. I also noticed that the previous owner used a jumper between terminals LG & RG for some reason.
And why suddenly are there only 3 wires (Grey, Brown, & bare copper wire) coming out of the tonearm towards the amp leads?
I could just use the Left channel and switch to "Mono" on my receiver to hear the output on both speakers and get over with it since I'm just playing 78's on this TT.
