Posting this to help folks avoid a situation I encountered while servicing my 1974 Garrard Zero 100C. I found some of the gears were covered in a hard black substance - a lot like when I see melted or decomposed belts getting into everything. This unit has a wheel, so no belts. While I was cleaning it all up, I noticed the cause. One of the AC Line cord clips was missing. The surviving clip was cracked but still hanging on. Evidently, one must have come loose and found its way to the drive gears and all that and made a mess. The clip is part #196 in the service bulletin. I installed two new straps. Included here are a few pics. The blue pen cap shows where the one survivor was hanging on. If you have these clips, think about replacing them before this happens to you.
