It's great. Built my wife's kitchen system from that place for free. Kenwood receiver, SONY CDP and Aiwa bookshelf speakers.
EDIT: after posting this my wife informed me that I needed to move the car. So I passed by the gear dump again and picked up a The Fisher 250-T. It's already in the storage bin but I will post a picture tomorrow.

Found a set of Marantz Imperial 7G sitting at the curb in front of my neighbor's house.
Used them for awhile, then my son had them, and now some college kids from the neighborhood.
A lone AR3 which wasn't exactly found free in the wild, but it was sitting in a slush puddle in a SalArmy parking lot, took it inside and bought it for $3.
Spent months looking for a mate, but no luck.

Sorry or the flight of fancy, turns out to be a Nakamichi MB3 7 Disc CD player and not an Accuphase.
The Sansui tuner looks in really good shape considering where it was found. (all knobs present and no broken glass)
Here is the lot at my sister inlaw’s doorstep.
That Sansui is feature packed for it’s generation I think. 1973-1977. Real pretty too.

Ahh I see, didn't think it would be an accuphase but that era of nak cd players are built like tanks. Btw the sansui is a receiver not a tuner.

Several theories.
My neighbors never had anything decent, They had good stuff but its in a landfill now.
They had good stuff but they're still using (I tend to doubt because I've seen no sign of it,) it's stashed in their attic, they left it in your neighborhood, they hate me and wait for me to go in vacation so they can put their audio treasures at the curb, dumb luck (Or lack there of), alien abduction. ......

My friend has a Kenwood dual cassette with a vented cover. I don't remember the model but it's mid-late 80s looking. First time I saw a deck like that but they are out there.
Here she is. This is the inside without any cleaning;
The "Tune-O-Matic" front panel is missing;
EDIT/UPDATE: passed the dim bulb test. Hooking up a CD player/speakers momentarily...

And all is well! The right channel was cutting out because the bass control was gunked up badly. Some contact cleaner and she's sounding pretty nice right now. If nothing goes kaput I'll clean up the face plate, fashion something for the "Tune-O-Matic" face and put her in the bedroom.

As someone alluded to earlier, most colleges & universities are finished for the year. A lot of students just dumping stuff so that don't have to transport it. I live in an area with multiple colleges & universities. The past couple of weeks the sidewalks have been littered with all sorts of apartment/household items.

ESS Heil AMT1, with the 'Great Heil' midrange/tweeter. Four woofer and PBR refoams late, they worked brilliantly.
Yamaha YPD-8 DD TT. Someone had stepped on it, bent the bearing so the platter wobbled. But the tonearm was fine, and it's a very good arm, with brilliant VTA-while-playing adjustment — and according to TVK close to the lowest friction rating ever in a gimbal arm.

Yep, it’s dorm cleanout week here. Back in the day there would always be something interesting about to be tossed. I’ve come across nice AR speakers of all varieties, a few pretty decent receivers, KLH phono systems, a Pioneer SA-9500II integrated amp (with the rack mount unit), Goodman’s speakers and so on. But that was a long time ago, nobody brings that kind of stuff to college dorm rooms anymore. It’s all smart phones and Bluetooth speakers around here, not even a clock radio to be found. Lots of shitty old futons, Ikea tables and box fans but that’s about it. I miss those days!
