Gemini XL400 II vs SL1200 MKII?

Even the Music Hall entry level TT is a blatant ripoff of the 1210's styling. Like comparing a Yugo to a Porsche.

Bad enough! The Gemini has no finesse, whereas the Technics does. Don't expect the audio to be as good from the Gemini. The SL1200 would kick it's backside.

At more than 3 times the price it SHOULD - that's to be expected.
However, for roughly $100 or less on the used market, could it be said that it's hard to go wrong?
One of the surprising things is that the cables are NOT captive (!)

Not too much of a disagreement that the Gemini XL-400 is a POS but I'm sure someone will want to tempt fate and that's why you see this turntable and others like it listed on Craigslist for stupid cheap prices and not a buyer in sight.

i have a Music Hall 7.1, with a sweet Sumiko Cart, so i am set really well for a turntable, however, i have to opportunity to pick up one of these cheapo units for 30 bucks, needs a new stylus. i have an AT 440MLB i could plop on it....worth doing for a second room, or a vinyl wrecker?

i should say the model i am seeing for 30 bucks is the Gemini XL-120 MKII.

Isn't the Audio Technica AT120 also a clone of the Technics?
