Finally got it on the bench went though everything with a fine tooth comb replaced a bunch of stuff. Put it on a variac to slowly bring it to power. All was good so I flipped it on put Beast Of Burden on the TT. No audio from the right channel. Feel the 6N9P on the right side and it's cold as ice. Turn off and unplug and the tube is brown and burnt up. About to just throw in the towel and focus on a 59 Harmon Kardon receiver I picked up on the cheap in lackluster shape. First time I burned out a preamp tube. Lol

Oh the tube was gone. The filaments were all broken up and it was literally dark brown like overheated. I'm an electrical engineer and have been building guitar amps and refurbished tube stuff for awhile. It was probably one of the more catastrophic failures I've seen on a preamp tube. I actually tossed it and don't want to dig through the garbage, but the side of the tube looked like someone held a torch up to it. Pretty bad. I've had power tubes and rectifiers etc go on me, but rarely a preamp in that manner.
