General Electric P350j power button sticks

Hey everyone. I just picked up a General Electric P350j. I believe this is from 1974, maybe 1975.

Its the same as the GE Wildcat at least the 1974 model.

It has an eject/power on/off switch that pushes up then rests in the ON position.
It does work but it seems a but sluggish and sticks a bit.

Any recommendations on how to clean this?

Any help appreciated.

Stale lubrication is the chief cause of failure in older record players. The old grease needs to be cleaned out and replaced with fresh lubrication. I don't know the mechanism of this model but if that sticky switch is the only problem with yours you may be able to pinpoint the sticking spot and free that spot temporarily with something like a drop of PB Blaster. DO NOT try to lubricate the whole mechanism with that stuff. It's just a short term fix that may get it working for a bit.
