Genesis I, 2-way Speakers at Thrift: Deal or No-Deal?

I saw a pair of Genesis Model I speakers at the thrift today. Bookshelf-sized, wood cabinets, clean grills, and intact (although delicate-looking) foam surrounds. Its worth noting these have the 8" drivers with the clear plastic speaker cones. I don't know if the drivers are original or not. I can probabally pick these up for $15. I imagine they'll need new surrounds. Deal or No-Deal? :scratch2:

The original Genesis I drivers had black paper cones and light green foam surrounds. Exact replacements, probably with grey foam, are available for $50. There is a $10 discount if you have the original bad woofers (which it sounds like you don't). See the link below, which also has pictures. http://www.humanspeakers.com/genesis/genI.htm

Thanks, the pair I saw obviously do not have the original woofers. The tweeter also looks different, perhaps this is a home-built pair...

The tweeters on these are not the original Genesis. I think this pair was home-built. Isn't there a 8" peerless woofer with a clear cone?
