It looks like there is someone selling 3 different pairs of Genesis Physics speakers in Grand Rapids. Some Model 44's, G2's, and G II+'s, basically variations on a theme. I'm a big EPI/Genesis Physics fan. Prices seem pretty good for being refoamed. Might be worth a road trip. No affiliation.

The downfall of the 44's was tweeter failure because the crossover divided too much lower frequency to the tweeter . When working , they sound good .

@goodolpg i sure as **** hope not. Anyone of these speakers are worth 100 all day long. The tweeters alone are worth 75.00 Pr. Sham on buyer trying to lowball and already fair asking price for very good vintage speakers for 100.00. What would you buy new for 100.00? Pioneer Andrew Jones??

agreed 44 would be my least favorite of the 3. Cabinet construction is cheapish on those.

I've got a pair of G2s. Great sounding speakers,too bad they wrapped the cabs in cheezy vinyl. Still a great buy!

Try getting $100 all day long. I've had speakers on my local Craigslist for sale for months also with no takers. People weren't buying big speakers before this Coronavirus thing, even less so now.

Refoamed? How well was the job done? I know our favorite refoam suppliers (Tom at myaudioaddiction or Rick Cobb) recommend filleted foams for the Genesis woofers. I don't see these on either the G2 or the G2+ models shown.

It's true, I check my CL as well as the neighboring CL's every day, been seeing those Genesis' relisted week after week..
The first time I saw them I thought it was probably the Genesis Media Labs white van crap, and the same speakers listed multiple times, either by mistake or on purpose.
After checking the ad(s) the first time I saw they were the real Genesis and there were multiple pairs.
I am too broke and already have too many speakers to even consider them, and I'm an Arnie Nudell fan.

all local CL sales.

it’s not a matter of price but more timing. Yes if guy/gal wants to give away 3 sets of genesis speakers for 20.00 a set you’ll get all the cheap asses to fight over buying them. Refoam isn’t a big issue regarding these. There’s only a handful of drivers that require special rolled surrounds. Most generic foam works just fine. At 100 they are priced well. The 44’s are not worth anymore really but the other 2 sets are older with real wood veneer and I’ve sold both those sets for 150.00. That’s the price they deserve and it takes time to get those prices due to brand recognition. If the were advents or AR they would sell in no time. Genesis and avid are under most peoples radar. Epi has more name recognition.
