Not a lot to go on. I've asked for pictures without the grills (if possible). Dimensions are 26 x 14.5 x 11.5

Any ideas?

Based on the size and the appearance (logo on lower left), they are the 1st Generation Genesis II. If that's the case, run don't walk as they're considered probably the best early Genesis speaker.

Well he is asking $250 (initially anyway) with a Hitachi SR604 receiver and basic Technics Turntable. I figure there's $75 max in the receiver and turntable, though they do look clean.

I know it's a better question for the Dollars & Sense area, but what's a ballpark for the speakers?

Yes, what is the condition of the drivers? If they need a refoam then that could be a bargaining chip.

Based on my gut, I'd say $100 max on the speakers and less if they hadn't been refoamed maybe $80. From what I can tell based on your valuation for the turntable and receiver,. he's asking $175 for the speakers which is high.

I think these are very nice speakers, I have a later version model II (tweeter at top).

They will need to be re-foamed - unless someone has already done it, or as in my case, replaced one or both woofers.

hint - you don't have to re-foam with the lovely original green surrounds ;-)

They are/should be very nice loudspeakers - I am very pleased with the pair of I+ that live here...

These were a bust. One had original drivers that needed to be refoamed, but the other had replaced woofers... one Pyle and one something else cheap looking

Too bad. These have one woofer and one passive per speaker. Should have been only one "real" woofer in the 2nd speaker.
