Genesis speakers worth an audition?

I know that the newer Genesis go for major bucks,so that MAY be a deal.I've owned some older Genesis III,s that were awesome!!!! If I didn't buy my polk SDA's,I would have kept them.

I think those are white van Genesis Speakers, or not the Original Genesis Physics Corporation Brand.

Nope these are not white van at all or have any relationship to the old Gensis with the inverted dome tweeter. There's a thread regarding this brand, somwhere on AK. IIRC they were a speaker manufacturer in the 90s.

There's 3 different Genesis speaker brands

Genesis Physics - the first Genesis company. Pretty good speakers, but not worth a whole lot

Genesis Advanced Technologies - Arnie Nudell from Infinity was a major player in this company. Apparently, he left in 2006. These speakers go for quite a bit.

Genesis White Van - white van, enough said

Looks like the speakers are entry level Genesis Advanced Technologies. But be careful they're not white van.

Definitely not $500 All they are is a two way tower with emit-r tweeters. While I'm sure they sound really nice they aren't $500 nice. Infinity had several versions of these as well (acually have them doing home theater duty) but they aren't worth that by any stretch

Thanks to all. I'll pass on the audition.

The store he claims to have bought them from had a reputation for good 'value for the dollar' gear.

Cheers.

They're Genesis Technologies, sure enough, built here in Colorado. What looks like a regular tweeter is actually a ribbon. They may be Genre IIs but I'm not 100% sure. Doubtful that they're worth $500 though.

They look like Genre 2's to me. I have a pair and they sounded good until the woofers blew their foam surrounds. List price on these were about $600/pair and were much cheaper when discontinued.

That $4000 when new line is a load of dung.

Ok I have a quick question for someone here! I have a pair of Genesis speakers that have green foam around the woofers. These speakers also have a woofer on top and one on bottom. I am trying to figure out their origins. If anyone here knows anything could ya give me a shout I would really appreciate some feedback. PS They sound phenomenal!

Those are Genesis Physics II, wonderful speakers but usually need new surrounds. http://www.humanspeakers.com/genesis/gen2.htm will give you info.
