Don't know if this has been covered somewhere on AK here, but I just read where George McCorkle, who wrote many of the Marshall Tucker tunes passed away on June 29th from cancer. A really great songwriter, musician, and great person as well.:tears:

I saw that several days ago. Marshall Tucker was a very fine live band in their heyday.

I agree, saw them live several times way back. Once at the Gator Bowl (Alltel Stadium?) Really liked several albums(Long Hard Ride, Searchin for a Rainbow, and particularly Carolina Dreams).:music:

Yep, they were one of my faves too.
I was at the show in Milwaukee that was recorded for the live cuts on "Where We All Belong".
FWIW, I picked up a clean copy of their Greatest Hits on vinyl about a year ago and was amazed at the excellence of the recordings; get it if you're a fan.
BTW, I wake up to "Ramblin'" in my CD alarm clock M-F :thmbsp:

Thank you for the good times, George

Yep, saw them open for Charlie Daniels. As much as I like CDB, Marshall Tucker should have been the headliner, not the opener. They were smokin' on that night.
