I don't have a reason not to believe, so I do. And yes, some pics would be cool.
This may or may not be a ghost, but it was MOST unnerving. About 5-6 years ago, maybe a little later in the year, say October, I took my sister to the store on Sat. afternoon, to get some stuff for supper. It was GLORIOUS weather, 70-75, I sat in the Mighty Valdez listenin' to the radio while she went in, drinkin' in the wonderful Fall day...I closed my eyes, but wasn't asleep...And then He showed up...A kid, tall & gangly, was RIGHT THERE, ALL AT ONCE in the driver's side window of my truck..."Please, Sir, Will you let me in, & take me to see my Mother ? Please, Sir, Let me in your Vehicle"...There was something VERY strange about this kid...And the day had gotten quite dark, like a storm was comin', but there were no clouds in the sky...And then I noticed it...HIS EYES WERE BLACK...Not just the pupils, THE WHOLE EYE, even the parts that were sposed to be white...I am normally NOT scared of much anything, but THIS freaked me out-I knew if I let this kid in my truck, that would be the end of me. I saw my sister coming out of the store, & told him-mumbling something about, sorry, but there was my sister, & did a "Casey Jones" around the parking lot...My sister got in & wanted to know why I did my Mario Andretti imitation around the parking lot...Of course, there was no kid to be seen, & I just kinda clammed up about it. That STILL freaks me out. The whole thing couldn't have been more than a half a minute, but it felt like FOREVER...And another thing, now that I think of it, HIS FACE was MOVING, kinda like it was liquid or something...Bizarre. And no, I DID NOT have anything to drink or smoke-altho I sure wished I had after that little encounter.
I do believe. In something anyway.
It's strange to read this because I was just recanting my only ghost story to my kids this evening...
When I was around 16, a friend and myself headed out on a Friday evening to his family's lake place outside of Alexandria MN. We arrived mid evening, made some grub and tried to chat up the girls next door for a bit before turning in around midnight.
The next morning we packed a lunch and decided to do a little exploring on the dirt bikes. We headed out on a criss crossed maze of mile marked dirt roads traveling through wooded areas and farm fields alike. Around noon we decided to stop and eat. From where we were stopped on the road, we could see an old abandoned farm house about 1/4 mile off on the horizon. It looked pretty cool so we figured that we would go check it out and eat there at the same time.
There was no drive as such but we followed a tractor path that seemed to be heading in its general direction. The path veered away about 100 or so yards from the old house so we just busted out own trail through the long grass to get there.
The house was literally in the middle of this field in the middle of nowhere. Most of the windows had long been broken out, hardly anything in the way of paint left on it and its roof and front porch was collapsing from dry rot and the elements.
We went inside and saw that the condition was about the same. Somehow we made it up to the second floor without killing ourselves and weeded through some wood crates strewn about that contained nothing of interest then back down again.
While we were back outside sitting in the grass and having a smoke, we noticed an angular access on the side of the house that lead to the storm cellar we figured. The board door was intact and had a latch on it but no lock so we figured to have a look. We must have wrenched on that door for 5 minutes before it finally flung open only to reveal what appeared to be a white haired guy standing about 1/2 way down the stairway staring back up at us
We beat feet out of there fast, jumped on the bikes and made our way back to the road. I think we were both to scared to say anything on the way to the road but when we got there and finally stopped in was 10 minutes of :Holy ****! did you see that?" and "I saw a white haired guy staring back up at us!!! Did you see that???!!!"
After we composed ourselves and came to the conclusion that it must have been out imaginations we figured to heck with the sandwiches and headed off to the cafe in a small town a couple of miles from there.
We sat alone in that little three table cafe all freaked out and still rambling on about what we had just witnessed. The old gal working the counter must overheard our conversation and asked what we had been up to. We told her the whole story (most of it anyway) and where the old abandoned farm house was at.
She was smiling until we explained where the place was. At that point the smile left her face and she told us we best stay away from that place and that things weren't "right" there. :jawdrop:
I don't know what it was that we saw but to this day just thinking about it sends shivers up and down my spine. That was a long time ago and I remember it like it was yesterday.

Explain how.
Plenty of spook stories all over town though and from people who aren't the types to make things up.I THOUGHT I'd told that story here before...But its still a good story anyway, & bears repeating..

Only thing I ever noticed was a rush of air past my head the night my grandpa's sister died (250 miles away). Windows were shut, and the heat/ac was off, so I didn't know what it was. That was the only thing I could think of.
I haven't seen one in 53 years. Haven't met anyone that could show me one in 53 years.
