Giant Craigslist Mystery Speakers. Altec?

I'm thinking these came out of a low budget night club sound system. Can easily imagine a pair of them on either side of a dance floor, in a cheap and tacky night club. Owner probably got his friend who is an "electronics whiz" to build them instead of hiring a proper commercial sound contractor

You all have this thing judged without ever hearing them. It is quite possible that they sound great. Someone of our group needs to go there and get the real answer of whether they sound good or bad. I'd do it, but it is a bit of distance from me. Good luck and start that extra room to fit them in. ;)

Guilty. OTOH, it looks to me like a 6-way, 8-driver loudspeaker.I have never heard of such a thing being good on the ears. Plus there are other issues such as driver placement and spacing. And we haven't even seen the crossovers. Just sayin.

God knows what's going on in terms of response, patterns etc. But a person who values low distortion and good dynamics over other virtues might enjoy them as long as the tone is OK.
