Glass diode replacement options: marantz 4230

I am repairing a blown channel in a marantz 4230, and one of the glass diodes is damaged. Is there a good new replacement for these diodes, or can I get away with a 1N4148 here? The diode is H716 in the schematic below. H714 is a glass diode too, it seems to be okay, but if I could use a 4148 I'd replace both.

If I'm reading the service manual component list correctly - H714 to H717 are 1N60's - Germanium diodes

They (H714 and H715) are part of the AOS circuitry that steals audio drive to prevent exceeding the 'Area Of Safe' operation. Germanium diodes have a lower Vf than silicon types so replacing them with 1N4148 types might decrease the effectiveness of the AOS circuit operation. Many parts that are being sold as germanium diode replacements are actually Schottky types. It might be difficult to determine if the AOS circuit operation has been compromised by using diodes other than 1N60 types without damaging the output transistors.

My 2 cents.

At low currents, many Schottky diodes will sub OK for a germanium. But a Schottky diode's Vf rises quickly with current, and in this application I'd not be using anything except a 1N60 or a 1N34A.

Not tough to find: http://www.angelfire.com/electronic2/index1/1N60.html

The real deal Germanium diodes should have an 'S' shaped wire inside an open space to one end of the chip junction in the glass capsule, silicon diodes don't have the open space or the 'S' wire and the glass capsule is usually smaller than Germanium diodes.
