Gluing Disconnected Shure 5X Body

I have a Shure 5X cartridge where the metal body of the cartridge has separated from it's plastic mounting holder (bracket). On examination it's quite clear the glue let go likely because the holder is connected to one of those Dual mounting back plates that allows for swapping out of cartridges without removing the head shell. Likely cause of the problem is that one of the hooks on the Dual backing plate is also broken meaning that someone struggled to get it off. In the process of struggling they likely snapped the bond between the metal body of the cartridge and it's plastic holder as well. Ironically the stylus is still fully intact .

Question, can I simply use some form of super glue/plastic contact cement to reattach it or is there some special adhesive I must use else I compromise the sonic qualities of the cartridge? Sorry if this is a stupid question but I've learnt the hard way not just to do and then ask questions afterwards.

Ive used LokTite 404 very successfully on various Shure carts. Its a variant of superglue.

Glue gets old, dries, loses its grip. Almost anything will work, even white PVA. Just make sure the old stuff is completely removed before applying the new.

I've used household cement and silicon. I has a R1000ed w/dead channel, I cut it out and replaced it w/m81 i got cheap

...I've had old carts separate. Had an m44g separate that was only a year old. I had an n75ed come out of the case a month ago it had #44 on the inside.

I used 2-part 5 minute epoxy on an M97xe that had the same thing happen to it. It was pretty easy to reattach. If you use a protractor to align the cantilever it's not even critical to square everything up perfect. Just get it eyeball close, and the rest will sort itself out during alignment.

Thanks for all the suggestions, will go with superglue. It worked much better than expected on the notorious Thorens dust cover hinge, still holding after a year and it takes a lot more strain than the cartridge ever will.
