..at a nice 200 seat venue and really looking forward. Love his solo stuff and the stuff he did with Dylan, Warren Zevon, Jackson Browne, Ry Cooder, etc.

Anyone else ever see him live?

I've seen him a couple of times with Jackson Browne and once when he played together with Wally Ingram. Good stuff.

I also saw him play with Jackson Browne, back in the early 70's.
I had 2nd row, center, seats at Washington D.C.'s Constitution Hall.
Bonnie Raitt was the opening act.

Don't get much better than that, does it?

Nice! I don't think Jackson Browne will be there tonight but in a 200 seater, I intend on being even closer than second row!

I saw him with Jackson Browne on the "Running on Empty Tour" -- '70s. He sang/sings the falsseto part of "The Load Out/Stay" cut. The crowd went wild. His lap steel was crazy good.

I would have really liked to see him with his band El Rayo-X.

I saw him with El Rayo-X a million years ago at the Bottom Line in NYC. Great show. Lot's of energy, great music. Enjoy!

He used to show up in Boise about once a year in the late 80's / early 90's. First time in about '86, I had a friend who insisted I go, even though I knew little about the guy. Turned out to be about the most fun you could have with your clothes on...he puts on a great show.

I too saw him with Jackson Browne in the 70`s and he also played Jackson`s Charity concert here in Sedona for a couple of years. He is much better than most folks give him credit for! Not only can the man Play! He can sing too. His falsetto is great.

fantastic show!

The show was great and well worth it! This guy is great and really knows how to create the mood that provides the right ambience for showcasing his talent. He brings out all these crazy stringed instruments and talks about where they came from and how he modified them.

And the stories!! He told this story about how Hunter S Thompson's wife called him after he died and wanted to send his ashes off in a cannon blast at his home in Montanna, using a Brunswick bowling ball. The job eventually went to Johnny depp, but they ended up firing a few bowling balls at Ted Turner's (Thompson's neighbour) trees anyway!

Check him out if he comes to your town. He reminds me of Adrian Belew in his genuine love of music and the ability to make one instrument sound like an entire band.

Ive always gone out of my way to see a Mr. Dave show,
Sounds like you had a great time !
Ive seen him with Ry Cooder & El Rayo X,
Last time I saw him,He was with Hani Nassar on Percussion.

Check out the David lindley website for pic's
Of the string instrument collection he has !

Cool site Sluggo. I'll throw this out to anyone still following.....anybody know what happened to his finger? I shook his hand at the end of the night and noticed his index is missing. So I ran through my album covers and just recently his website but it looks like all photos show his finger intact.

Perhaps a new twist on the crossroads story?
