Gomez - Get Miles

I just saw that CD at a local Goodwill... I saw the title Get Miles and I thought it was a Miles Davis CD at first.

When I saw that it wasn't, I passed on it.

Wonder if they still have it? :scratch2:

Well, the album with this song is titled 'Bring It On'. Maybe you saw some bootleg, or an EP with that title... :dunno:

Just as a note...to kill some time I've been watching some old 'House' reruns on the 'puter. If you're not already a fan, it's probably the best show on TV besides Breaking Bad. In any case, they often feature some obscure band in the soundtrack, and this Gomez tune was used in the 2nd season (episode #12, Distractions, where House took acid to get rid of a migraine :)). So yeah, that's how I found it. There's a couple of websites that track the music on House for guys like me who hear something and have to find out who the hell that was.

Great show, good tunes.

Did someone say Gomez? I've been a fan for a few years. They are a british group on the jamband circuit. Good stuff.

"Get Miles" is off Bring It On. A good starter album if you like their sound.

They just did a live set a few days ago on KCRW. It is available on their website for free streaming.

this place is sooo badass for obscure little details and tasty tidbits about stuff like that streaming vid mentioned...:thmbsp:

Thanks for the info and link. Good stuff. I like to think that I keep up with music pretty well and something like this slips up on me. Great rhythms and outstanding vocalist(s).

I just ran across Gomez for the first time "Airstream Driver" on XM. Liked it, went out and bought the newest, A New Tide. I really enjoy it and ordered the previous. Reminds me of MMJ crossed with REM with a little Radiohead in there somewhere.

I never heard of Gomez before seeing this and watching the video. I'm digging that tune and they are on the radar now. Thanks, Glen :thmbsp:

Saw Gomez in Adelaide Australia a couple of years ago. Wasn't at all familiar with their music but thoroughly enjoyed their sound and gig.

They alternate vocals. I don't know the band members names, so I'm not going to make a fool of myself.

Lets put it this way, the big guy does some of the vocals. If you've seen them live you'll know which guy I mean.

I believe this disc goes for about $.25 on Amazon! I have had it for years and still enjoy it, never understood why there were so many of them in the cheepo bins. They got some airplay here in Detroit when they still played music on DET during the days.
