Good Budget Bookshelf Speakers?

I'm looking for some good budget bookshelf speakers.
I currently have an Nad 705 receiver hooked up to some Boston Acoustics A200's and would like to add some rear bookshelf speakers.
I'd be pairing them with an Nad 902 amplifier.

Any suggestions? I was hoping to stay with Boston Acoustics again.

I still have my EPI 100s from the 1980s. When I get my home theater thing going, they will serve as my surrounds.
 
Paradigm ATOM are highly rated and very inexpensive bookshelves. I've never heard, but was researching and thinking about picking up a pair for $25 on my local CL. From everything I've read, they're an excellent value.

Your BA A200's are of the acoustic suspension design. You might find these modern versions of the KLH 6 to your liking:

Moden version KLH 6

Do a search on this site as these speakers are fairly popular.

I run Paradigm Atoms v3 in my kitchen and they work very well. If you have a little more room I would recommend the Titans, or the Focus line. All phenomenal for the price IMHO.

Those are nice, but did they ever make a smaller version? I don't have much space to work with.
I'm looking something more in the 10-12" Height by 6-8" Width max size.
 
The Paradigm Atoms mentioned are reputedly excellent. In the vintage realm, AR-4x are widely appreciated, and not too big. Among the harder-to-find but excellent smaller speakers are Sequerra Met 7s, Genelec's smallest monitors, Mini or Small Advents, Rauna Tyrs (I and II), Infinitesimals, and if you want to go a bit bigger or slightly less audiophile, a slew of offerings from major brands like Yamaha NS-100s, Marantz HD series, Pioneer HD-40/60 (more "West Coast" than your BAs, though), etc... IF you can find them, some older and smaller Peerless speakers are excellent, too.

But if you have a preference for the BAs, why not just look for one of their bookshelves? Keeping speakers in the same sonic family makes for better surround sound, and the easiest way to do that is to stick to the same brand and their "house sound"!

Grab the Atoms! Very good small speakers. Actually better balanced sound than the Phantoms or Titans.
 
Boston Acoustics A70s and if you want small, a40s. Own both, and have owned a150s and a200s.

The Boston Acoustics VRS series are very well regarded. I have some of them too and they have an amazing tweeter.

Paradigm Atoms and Titans are good (I have these too) but a different approach than the Bostons you love.

I also like NHTs and currently are playing SuperOnes.

If you can fit the a70s that's your best bet. A40s are mice if you need small. And they match well with what you have.
 
While not vintage, I liked what I heard from some Athena Technology bookshelves for the price.

Athena is part of API (Audio Products International) which also makes Energy and Mirage brands. All this was acquired by the Klipsch Group back in 2006.
