Good Multi Disc CD Player Opinions:

I use a CD player regularly. I have many, including some nice changers but i find myself using the single disc players almost exclusively. It just works with how I listen to music. I also use a nice turntable. I also upload some CD's to the computer. Those are for the most part to be able to load the songs I want to the phone for portability. Seems to me it's a PITA to pick a song I want to hear on the computer. And before you start thinking I have an aversion to computers, I don't. I worked in the computer industry for awhile. I just don't think it is the best way to listen to music...for me.

I like the hands on and rapid access of a CD player. And I don't like making playlists really.

Interesting you should say this, as I find the opposite true. I can find whatever I want in a flash on the computer, but with all the CDs I have finding the one I want to listen to on a whim takes more time (often a lot since most CD spines look the same) than simply pressing the mouse.

I like hardware. Software tends to leave me cold sometimes. Other times not so much. Funny thing is I use Internet radio streaming from my garage computer to my stereo setup out there almost exclusively in that environment and also use old iPhones in docks connected to the stereo systems in the house streaming Internet radio over wifi. In those situations I am usually focused on something else and Internet radio is just running. When I want to hear something specific, I use a CD or LP. My wife and daughter probably use computer specific music much more than I.

I guess I need to restate my answer above. When I want something specific I listen to a CD or an LP and when I want music playing without picking every artist or song, I will use Internet radio from some digital source other than a CD player.

Valuable compact discs need to not be played in changers. Music server better than CD changer. 100 + CD changers for consumer use are flimsy, plasticky, and scratch discs easily. 5 CD carousels can be decent, the McIntosh 5 disc changer which used the Nakamichi MusicBank changer mechanism was far and away the best changer made.
