Good universal remote?

Hey, guys. Can anyone here recommend a good (cheap, I hope!) universal remote that will usually work on Audio Equipment? I just got a freebie Pioneer VSX 403 Audio Video Receiver in excellent condition, but missing the remote, of course. The only remote for it I can find online is over $50.00, and it is not original...supposed to work, with "some issues".

I know a universal won't work every control on the receiver, but should be better than nothing.

Thanks.

I have a wal-mart all-in-one universal remote that works all of my stuff. There is a website that hosts universal codes.

If you buy one, of course it comes with a code sheet but you can find codes on the internet.

Look for a used Harmony. I found a very nice one for $35, no cheapie universal can begin to compare.

Philips Pronto TSU2000. There are several on on eBay right now. Its older touchscreen technology but 100% user customizable. There is a Pronto configuration file on Remote Central for the Pioneer VSX-403. With ProntoEdit software, you can upload the Pioneer codes into the Pronto and you're good to go. I own Pronto TSU-7500, TSU-3000 and TSU-2000 remotes, all in use. The PronoEdit software has somewhat of a steep learning curve, but can be mastered with experience. Note that the TSU2000 connects to a PC by serial connection. If you decide to go with a Pronto, send me a PM and I will e-mail you the VSX-403 config file, ready to be uploaded.

I bought a Logitech Harmony remote at the local CostCo for about $80 bucks. For universal remotes, less is often more. This is a fairly stripped down model but it does what I need.
System:
Panasonic Plasma
Verizon FIOS cable box with DVR (Motorola mfg)
Oppo BDP-83SE NuForce
Lexicon RV-8 receiver.

Every once in a while it loses its mind, but I've achieved the one remote thing for the kids. Been using it for over a year. If there's a weakness, it's that it doesn't tell you when it needs a charge and when it does it stops working. I've gotten in the habit of plugging it into the charger about once a month so that is no longer an issue.

I had tried a neighbor's far more sophisticated Logitech Harmony remote and it was such a PIA to set up that, like my neighbor, I gave up.
