Goodmans Axiom 80

Hey all,

I've stumbled across a pair of Axiom 80s and I'm deliberating as to what to do with them. They're not really useful to me as I don't have the room to build the cabinet they deserve, but I loath to sell them as they sound amazing even without a box. I've never heard such an amazing transient response - they make my PMCs sound slow in comparison!

Anyway, could anyone give me an idea of what they're worth in their current condition? Cosmetically they're not great, I have the original boxes (which are a little damaged) and the cloth covers for them. The photo for the box is a little flattering, the other one is a lot more beaten up. Functionally they're working beautifully as far as I can tell.



I've an offer of £1200 from an eBay seller, but I get the feeling they're just going to end up on eBay again - I'd rather they went to someone who will appreciate them.

Hi there,

I have a single Axiom 80 in a corner cabinet, they sure are beautiful. I'd say keep em FYI A clean pair sold on the bay in June in for £2000. Now yours are a bit more corroded by comparison but you've got the original box. So I don't know, I'd say 2000, so 1200 is low in my opinion.

Wow I wish! I have the perfect cabinets for them too. Beautiful mid century modern cabs that housed Triaxioms.

Depends on where you live. In Europe they tend to go for top dollar, so a sale can net you a big start toward anything else you want.

In North America they are still desirable, but they typically sell for much less. This makes it a better proposition to keep them until you figure out a way to use them. You are unlikely to match their sound for the money you'll get.
