Typically I only find CD's or records in the Goodwill. If they have anything around me it is junk. Imagine my surprise the other day when I found a pair of Baby Advent II's. $6 for the pair and sequentially numbered. Of course they need foam. Wood is real nice, no major scratches or stains. I checked the crossovers and they are real simple: just a cap, resistor and coil. They have a circuit board mounted to the spring clip housing. The only thing that looks a little difficult is that it is set up to take radial caps. I have some Solens that I can use, but like most replacements they are axial leads. I could clip off the one lead short, solder it to the other spot on the board and then solder it to the other lead on the cap. Not pretty, but it should work. Any other ideas?

I usually buy Baby Advents every time I see them, and yep, they need foam every time. I just received my foam order from Rick Cobb yesterday for a set of Baby IIs, and a set of Legacy I.
The crossovers for the Advents are removed from the back making it easy to redo the cap(s) any time without going back into the cabinet.
As to the cap, use whichever style you have that is the correct capacity, you don't have to look at it later!
 
Changed out the caps. The lead wasn't long enough so I had to use a small piece of wire as a jumper to reach the other end of the capacitor. PICT0006 small.jpg
