Goodwill speakers-Audio-Logic & Relax Swiss

Hello,

Can anyone tell me something about these speakers?

-Canadian made, heavy, solid wood construction "Audio-Logic" A-475, $40

-Swiss made, heavy, solid wood construction "Relax Swiss"

I would really appreciate the help.

White Van

Wow,

I didn't know that they had white van speakers back the 60's

I am not too interested in the Audio logic but I sure do like
the look of the ones called "Relax Swiss". One thing that concerns
me is that the wattage & ohms are hand written on a metal plaque.
My first immpression is that they are DYI. But look great.
They are fully enclosed so I can't look inside. If I buy them I will post pics.
Burlap collored grills.

If they are truly made in Switzerland, myself I would probably buy them. Very few speaker products came out of there over the years and the ones that have always ended up being extremely well built, although some were not overly exciting to look at it. In many ways much like the German products of the 60's & 70's. If you could get a picture with a grille off many here could comment as to whether or not they look worth going for.
 
RELAX SWISS. "Made in Swiss"

The speaker grills don't come off and the box is fully enclosed.

There are three matching pairs all different size.

I will take some pics and post back next week.

They are heavy (but lighter than my Wharedales). Appear
to be very well built. Nice light oak finish with light grill.

Sounds like the cabs would be worth the price of admission here! The worst than could happen is they get "franken-speakered" into something more paletable, I would do it, but then I am a sucker for the old world wood cabs....

My take is that the old cheap crap is better than the new cheap crap.

But to be sure, I've seen good speakers with cheap materials and bad speakers with expensive materails.

Back then using real wood and veneer wasn't as cost prohibitive as it is today.

Bottom line is listen to them, if you like them, buy them, end of story.
