Google Chrome and Adobe Flash Player

I keep getting these alerts (yellow bar) popping up the last couple of weeks or so on just about every site I go on lately. Chrome says the Adobe Flash Player will no longer be supported.
I've clicked on the "Learn More" but I'm not really learning more - in other words - it ain't helping me understand what's going on or what's going to happen.
If I keep using Chrome am I in trouble or is this just another Y2K thing?

Can someone lots more tech savvy than me explain what I need to do?
If so, please try to keep it in "Mother Goose" terms for me I know nothing about computer code.

I'm bumping before this gets buried and to also add that I get this Adobe message from Chrome here on AK also.

Go to the Google Chrome forums, it will explain all about it.

I thought to myself "Self, 'botrytis' will know what's going on and prolly tell me all about it."
So, this morning when I posted this thread I personally had you in mind BUT I expected more...

They're only disabling outdated plugins, which in turn, forces devs to update.

When I bought my first iPhone years ago I would have said "yes". These days, not so much.
