google chrome had to go

have been having trouble with my pc not shutting down because good old google chrome had webrtc running continuously . and with no way to turn it off i was compelled to try slimjet browser .
wow this browser can look the same as chrome and you have lots more control over things .
instead of this i could have closed the browser before power down but that takes a second or 2 .
i am wondering if anyone else has been having the same problem ?
am running the latest ubuntu by the way .not that it should make any difference .

I haven't had any problems here, but I went back to 14.04 because 16.04 was giving me tearing problems. I always close everything before powering down, so I might not have noticed. Google Version is 51.0.2704.106

I want 16.04, so I grabbed a second machine to run just for Audacity, but haven't set it up yet. There are some plug ins not available on 14.04

That's interesting because when surfing ... I constantly get pops for downloading Google Chrome .

Thing is.... I don't even like Windows 8, 10 or the newer newest versions for internet mingling.

So ... my question to you, and I suppose its an "add-on" to your post. Will Google Chrome do anything to enhance a Windows 7 or upgrade to Windows 8, internet experience?

Note: I have reviewed some OL posts regarding the Window upgrades and the reviews seem mixed.. ?

as i understand it the browser should behave the same regardless of operating system .well so long as operating system can run that browser

I just shut down with chrome open on ak. No problems here ?

Seems it takes those two seconds to close the restore pages pop up I got after doing this ?? :)

Hm, ive been using chrome since it was in beta, never had a problem apart from usual beta bugs. the only gripe i have is how it uses a ton of RAM, but i usually have 10-20 tabs open at once so not surprised.
