got a chance to get klipsch rf7...need help

this local gentleman has a set of klipsch rf7 for sale for $100....but it is a little scratched , the covers are missing , dust covers pushed in,and one speaker bearly makes a mumbling sound they think the crossover is messed up.....what should i do.

the workin speaker has 2 wires bridging on the back , the one not working doesnt....but I dont think that is the reason they dont work...help please

The dust covers should be easy to pull out, the scratches can probably be touched up (are they the black veneer?), and if it is the x-over you should be able to order spares. I wouldn't worry about the covers, they look cool without them and you might be able to order replacements from Klipsch. I had a pair of RF3's briefly and I ordered the feet for them. If the drivers are damaged then that is another story. You still might be able to part them out on ebay and make your money back. I would probably take a chance on them. I only got rid of the RF3 because I liked my Heresy II's more and I couldn't convince my wife to let me put them in the living room in place of our bookshelf speakers. I sold mine for $400 but they were mint.

I just bought a pair of RF7s a few weeks ago. I love them. I payed 800.00. I would go get them! You can still order parts for them from Klipsch. Oh yea I drove from Kansas City to Springfield(2hrs and 45min) one way and would do it again.If these speakers are close to KC let me know and I will snatch them up!

just an update ....i bought them and took them home and biwired the one not working.
now it works fine and sounds great
