Hello, I have been searching for a turntable to get into vinyl, I found my dads old turntable a Philips F7230 Fully Automatic turntable. From what I've read on other forums it's a piece of ****, but I intend to use it anyway and then spend most of my money on a amplifier and stereo system then save up my money to buy a good turntable. But since I do intend to use this turntable, I will of course have to fix it up, since there seems to be two critical errors that I think will be easy to solve, one of them is surprisingly, the absence of a needle. The cartridge is a gp330, but I am guessing it's easier to just buy a new cartridge than trying to find a needle for it. The other dysfunctional piece is the belt, I haven't checked out the state of the belt yet, it might just have fallen out of place.
So since I am new into turntables (never owned one) I'd love some help with this, could anyone recommend a cartridge, or give me the news that this turntable can only use that specific cartridge?
Also, where does one find a belt?
