I had dad pick up some Frontline today at the vet for the kitty. It ran $39, or $13 dollars a month. The same 3 month supply for our German Shepherd was $45.

I got online and discovered that the formula for cats and dogs is nearly identical. The difference is a very small amount of methacone (flea sterilizer) and dosage. Each large dog dose is equivalent to 8 kitty doses. If I buy large dog Frontline, I can get 24 months supply for the cat for $45, dropping the price to $1.87 per month for the kitty if I just empty the large dog Frontline into an amber bottle and draw out a kitty dose each month.

If we start buying large dog Frontline discounted online, we can get 12 doggy doses for $93, shipped to our door. This will drop the cost of keeping the cat in Frontline from $13 a month to $0.97 a month. I imagine the savings would be just as drastic for those of you who are buying Frontline for your smaller pooches. Evidently shelters have known this for years.

I'm spending my extra $12 a month on beer.

i was hurtin for some flea med one time, vet was closed dog was a itching.... holiday... went to wally world and go that seargents... kills em in an hour.

That stuff is no joke, it was murdering em. i was up with the dogs counting em dying, was not a bad outbreak, but the yearly adventure for the dog to go outside. i put the dog in the tub and you could see em flying off screaming.. hehe. i cant stand fleas....... yuck

That sounds like a very good price for Frontline! I buy mine at http://www.petshed.com , and thought they had the best prices,
last time I checked. I would be concerned about giving the proper
dose, and storing the opened container.

Proper dose can be accomplished with a syringe (sans needle). Storage of the open container should be done in an air-tight, UV-proof amber bottle.
