Point of No Return
I have a pair of Genesis 1+s and refoamed them last year. The cabinets have a few chips and nicks, but they are in good condition overall. Sound great for their age.

Any idea what they are worth? are they worth keeping? anyone up for trades?

lookin for some input as I don't use these anymore (too big)

Too big??? I have a set of I's that I think are the perfect bookshelf size.

Anyway, mine are nearly perfect oak veneer, one badge missing, freshly refoamed, recapped and rewired...I've got $78 bucks in 'em and think they're worth every cent.
 
they are 2 feet tall and and almost a foot deep, no way they fit on any bookshelf I have!... anywho, I can't say I don't like em, but they don't come close to my rockets!
 
If size matters more than sound, then it sounds like the Genesis 1+s are going to have to find a new home. I don't know the Rockets, but I'd be surprised if they were better balanced and went lower than the Genesis. But if you want to sell them, certainly they have some value. For some reason, EPIs seem to be more desireable, but my impression is that the small Genesis speakers seem to go for 20 - 80 bucks. But all the ones I have seen are vinyl and if yours are veneer, they might go for more.
The frustrating thing about speakers is that merit and value have little to do with each other. If you are a dumpster diver, that's good, but if you are trying to sell a pair of unknown but excellent speakers, its pretty depressing.
 
My first pair of genesis I bought for $20 at a Salvation Army...it was my intro to vintage audio. I decided to replace my home theater speakers with all-genesis as I liked these so much, so I paid about $70 a pair for two more pairs for (forgive me) surround sound. Some of the best HT speakers I've heard. You sure you don't have room for them? Nat is right...merit and value have little to do with one another. Everybody talks everything up as being worth so much when they find it for $5, but nobody is willing to pay much more it seems. I'm shocked at some stuff that I see listed over and over here on craigslist.

The Genesis are excellent speakers but unfortunately don't seem to garner too good a price.

no- correct that- makes no sense if one was judging on quality. They are just good speakers.

But the name recognition is low, so that hurts 'em.

I gave my son a pair of recapped Genesis 1+ speakers last month.
He never heard of Genesis either....but raves about the sound!

well if anyone wants to trade me for a nice center channel, I am in need of one for my theater.

Wish I could use these, but not too practical right now and they are just sitting in the garage.
 
I use a Genesis 1 for my center channel, which leaves me a spare. So, I'll trade you the extra Genesis 1 for your pair of Genesis 1+. :D
